The Flanders poppy. Scarlet, simple, unforgettable.
Coming soon to Amazon.
Papaver rhoeas, the red corn poppy. Papery scarlet petals on wiry stems, blooming in early summer and self-sowing readily once established. Direct sow only, since it resents transplanting, and give it full sun and lean soil for the best show.
What's inside
One packet of Papaver rhoeas seed.
How to sow
Surface sow in early spring as soon as the ground can be worked, or in late fall. It needs light to germinate, so don't cover it. Thin to 6-8 inches. Full sun, well-draining soil.
